I lead the Education team at OPEN (the Online Pediatric Education Network), a grant-funded group embedded in the Innovation Studio at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. I've been developing OPEN's strategy, brand, and content production while also contributing to CHLA's response to COVID-19 in Los Angeles.
My projects so far have included developing a curriculum around mental health, planning a CME-accredited podcast in Armenia, and piloting a mobile eye-clinic.
I've previously worked as a researcher and data analyst in microeconomics, law, social media, and politics. The thread that connects my work is a curiosity about what shapes people's behavior and experiences. After working in analytics for a few years, I wanted to extend my work from understanding to creating. This led me to study design at Umeå Institute of Design in Sweden and at the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design summer school.
I'm looking to combine my data and design chops to research, experiment, and prototype. Nothing gets me more excited than mocking up a MVP together from what tools I have available. I believe what helps make good design are 1) experiments and 2) a touch of delight. Experiments start from a place of curiosity and an openness to learning. After the essentials are taken care of, a bit of delight is a spark that I can give to someone else.
